Leonardo da Vinci’s Style for Drawings and Paintings

Very often I think about how Leonardo da Vinci would have depicted animals and situations with people. The most famous paintings, drawings and studies of the artist related to animals, people and plants are:

  • Study Dog and Cat
  • Fight between dragon and lion
  • Rider and horse
  • Study plants
  • Sketch roaring lion
  • Study horse leg

In doing so, I looked at the style of the artist’s paintings and recognized the following characteristics:

  • monochrome, thus ideal for pencil drawings
  • one picture often contains several sketches
  • situations are in motion, no still pictures

Soon there will be more sketches from my side with these findings! Going through my images, I noticed that some already have similarities.
